If you skipped Windows 8, you may be in for a quite an adjustment, particularly when it comes to Start menu “tiles”. We want to talk about how to add, remove, and customize them. However, some people want to turn live tiles off because the info distracts their attention during their work.
Out of the box, Windows 10 allows disabling Live Tiles for pinned Universal apps by right clicking them and choosing the option from the context menu. The user needs to disable Live Tile notifications for every pinned Tile individually. If you want to get rid of Live Tiles for all pinned apps at once and prevent new pinned apps from having Live Tiles, here is a trick which does this job for you.

By default, to disable the Live Tile option for an app in the Start menu of Windows 10, you need to right click it and select More -> Turn live tile off. See the following screenshot:

Even with the default setup, there are many Live Tiles in the Start menu. It unnecessarily takes your time and a lot of clicks to disable Live Tiles for each app individually. To save your time, you can apply a Registry tweak which will disable them all at once.

- Group Policy Editor will open.
- Go to Local Computer Policy → User Configuration → Administrative Templates → Start Menu and Taskbar → Notifications.
